Digital Media relates to film in multiple key ways, such as the use of digital editing programs, such as Final Cut Pro X, on filmed content, as well as films making use of animation programs, camera technologies and angles, and sound & music technologies. Without digital media technologies, we would only have uncut, non-touched up movies with realistic looking actors, no special effects, and less massive fight scenes that should kill the actors . . . like in real life. huh. Nonetheless , digital media helps create interesting content, contrary to real life.
Photoshop and Illustrator are similar programs, for the most part. The difference between vector- and raster-based images is very noticeable, with Illustrator being much easier to use because of that. However, using Illustrator right after using Photoshop can be jarring, as some things more common in one program are all but non-existent in the other, such as he widespread use of shape-drawers in Ai.
Ps, meanwhile, works best with pre-existing images. Ai is also kind of annoying to use, because it's hard to draw some shapes that I thought would have been easy. All in all, they both take getting used to, and can be very finicky when you first use them. Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator do seem like similar programs, but do actually provide a necessary and unique service. While Photoshop is better used to edit raster images that are pre-existant, Illustrator is best when used to create new vector-based graphics that need to be scaled up or down. Images from Ps will become pixelated when resized, while ones from Ai will simply recalculate the mathematical equations that the image is based on. Photoshop and Illustrator are both useful, industry-standard programs used for professional work, but in different circumstances.
1. I got my inspiration for the project as being based upon a ping pong match with a few cheering, as well as some uninterested, audience members from the following source: No, not actually. That was an attempt at humor. I had my inspiration for my project when I was at home, discussing the project with my dad. I was telling him my initial ideas for the image, and then he suggested I take shots of me taking shots on our pool table. I then countered, saying 4-5 people all taking shots on a pool table at once does not comply with the rules of pool, and then I decided to use our ping pong tabletop that goes on top of our pool table instead. 2. I didn't really struggle with anything, not that I peculiarly excelled in anything either. I was able to apply masks, erase content accurately, ensure that camera shakes were appropriately dealt with, and apply other fundamental concepts with relative ease. 3. Elements
Perspective- Used to portray the idea of the viewer as just another audience member, as they are at about head-height and it Color- Used to convey small ideas and details, such as the contrast between the red- and blue-colored paddles of the players. Principles Movement- Used to convey the idea of both the players' hands moving to intercept the ball and the crowds' cheering. Balance- Used to create an asymmetrical view of the game, with the only visible crowd members on the far side. Media Arts Principles Point of View- Used to give the user the idea of being there, at the game, because of the camera level and angle comparable to that of an actual person. |
